An EICR is an electrical installation condition report that records these checks and identifies defects needing attention. ### What equipment does the electrical inspection cover? Our examination covers the incoming electrical equipment and the consumer unit, which is the fuse box supplying the property's wiring. We look inside selected sockets and light switches to examine their wire connections. ### Why does testing require the electricity to be off? Some electrical measurements require disconnected wiring. We cut the relevant supply while our instruments check cables serving lights, sockets and cooker points. Sensitive electronics need shutting down before these interruptions. ### Which connections protect people from electrical faults? Earthing provides a protective path for electrical fault current, and we test that path. We examine bonding connections, which join metal service pipes to the earthing system. We also check the operation of switches that disconnect faulty wiring. ### How will the report explain the wiring condition? Your report records electrical readings and describes the defects found. It identifies immediate dangers, potential dangers and recommended improvements. The inspection ends with an overall satisfactory or unsatisfactory result for the installation. ## What do Wandsworth property owners ask about electrical surveys? ### Can you carry out electrical checks for my Wandsworth rental? We undertake rental property wiring inspections in Wandsworth and provide landlord electrical certificates. Our checks examine the permanent cables, fittings and electrical protection. ### Can you examine the electrics before I buy a home? Our electrical surveys examine a property's wiring before contracts are exchanged. The written findings describe defects and identify the electrical work needed to correct them. ### Have you tackled wiring problems following a failed EICR? Our previous work includes a rental property survey and repairs following a failed electrical inspection. We have also carried out fuse box replacement and additional wiring work connected with EICR findings. ### What does the inspection involve after I book? We examine the electrical equipment before measuring the wiring and testing its protective connections. You receive a condition report containing the readings and descriptions of defects found. ### How long will the electrical checks take at my home? A standard domestic EICR takes two to four hours to inspect and test the installation. Larger properties, additional circuit boards and harder access to fittings increase the time required. ## Other services in Wandsworth - [Electrician in Wandsworth](https://belloelectricsltd.co.uk/electrician-wandsworth): Electrician in Wandsworth from Bello Electrics Ltd for wiring repairs, electrical inspections, lighting, appliance connections and alarms. - [EICR and electrical surveys (all areas)](https://belloelectricsltd.co.uk/services/eicr): Book an EICR or electrical survey with Bello Electrics Ltd.
