Most standard single ovens rated under 3 kW can run from a standard 13 amp plug or fused spur. Larger cookers, induction hobs and double ovens usually exceed 3 kW and must have a dedicated high-capacity radial circuit wired straight to the consumer unit.
Why does my immersion heater trip the circuit breaker?
Immersion heaters commonly trip switches when the internal heating element casing splits or corrodes, allowing water to touch the live element wire and creating an earth fault. A damaged thermostat or loose, overheated wiring terminal can also cause immediate tripping.
Do you disconnect my old cooker when fitting a new one?
We safely isolate the power and disconnect the old electrical wiring from your existing cooker or hob before installing the replacement unit into the existing electrical point.
Can you run a new cable if my kitchen does not have a cooker circuit?
